Tony has over twenty years of experience in managing the design and construction of capital improvements projects as well as residential and commercial land development projects. He was also a Senior Vice President at Citigroup where he was a project manager responsible for process improvements. Tony is an Army veteran with more than 30 years of service and is currently a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Tony has commanded troops at every level and is currently the Airborne Operations Oversight Officer for a command of over 2,500 soldiers. To get to know Tony, we asked him a few questions:

Can you share with us a little bit about yourself?

I have always had an interest in building things which led me to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology where I earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering. I enjoy woodworking and doing home improvement projects. I am fortunate enough to be happily married to a loving wife, who is very supportive of my career and military service.

How does military training and experience help you in the private sector and what strengths do you bring to RGS?

I believe that one of the biggest lessons I have learned from military service is the value of collaborating and working with diverse, multi-functional and multi-cultural teams composed of various government and non-governmental agencies and organizations. I think that my experience in managing these diverse teams is one of the strengths that I bring to RGS.

Tell us about RGS from your vantage point.

What most attracted me to RGS is the company’s philosophy of treating its employees like family and its commitment to hiring and supporting veterans. I believe that the leadership and management skills that are gained through military service are invaluable to management consulting firms like RGS. I appreciate that RGS recognizes this and as we continue to grow the business, I look forward to finding veterans to support our clients’ and business needs.

What are your thoughts for growing RGS?

RGS is a Program and Project Management firm supporting major private and public clients with their capital and facilities projects delivery.  These markets afford us exciting growth opportunities. I believe that building on our current successes and responding to our clients’ needs for additional supporting services to deliver end-to-end capital projects execution is our path for growth.

How can RGS hire and retain more qualified veterans to support its lines of business?

I believe the key to finding more qualified veterans is through partnering. The Department of Defense’s SkillBridge Program and organizations like American Corporate Partners provide great partnering opportunities to mentor, train and hire transitioning veterans. In addition, I believe our clients are also eager to support veteran’s hiring initiatives which together with a proactive approach from RGS could lead to expanded opportunities for veterans as well as more business for RGS and more relevant, comprehensive services from trained experts for our clients.
